Product description

Author: Barbara Szelegejd

The English version of the publication, which is the first study of a museum collection of works of art made of a specific ceramic material – enamel-free porcelain. It presents the largest collection of its kind in Poland, gathered mainly by Stanisław Kostka Potocki, the creator of the Wilanów Museum, and his son, Aleksander. It contains extensive notes, supported by archival materials, of 171 bisquit objects, made mainly in the Meissen factory, as well as in other factories in Germany, Austria and France from the 1770s to the first decades of the 19th century. Rich illustrative material allows not only to see each of the museum items, but also to become acquainted with the signs and exemplary engravings placed on their surfaces in factories, which inspired the creators of the models or acted as an intermediary in the dissemination of the developed patterns.
