Product description
Ed. Teresa Chynczewska-Hennel
The studies we present to the Readers are the outcome of a scientific conference that took place on 11 September, 2008 at the Wilanów Palace Museum under the honorary patronage of Józef Glemp, Primate of Poland, as part of the celebration of the 325th anniversary of the victory of Vienna. In the next papers prepared for publication, the authors would like to acquaint Readers with the current state of knowledge about the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the era of Jan III Sobieski, the Victory of Vienna, and the Turkish threat to Europe. Many interesting, arguably, further questions and research proposals were also raised. History, fortunately for historians, is a science and art that has no end. We discover new sources, but we also constantly ask new questions. Often the current world in which we live and which we contemplate provokes us to keep flagging question marks. I hope that the beautiful graphic design proposed by the employees of the Wilanów Palace Museum will encourage you to read it.
